AVAILABLE SERVERS HELP
Displayed is a list of NetWare 386 file servers accessible with the Remote Console utility. To access the file server's console, highlight a server and press the ENTER key; enter the password when prompted. To exit the list of servers, press the ESCAPE key.
You can also specify a server name on the command line. This can be useful if, for whatever reason, the name is not found in the list of servers. (ex: RCONSOLE SERVER1) If you run RConsole this way, you will be prompted for the password without having to select a server from the list of remotely accessible servers.

AVAILABLE SERVERS HELP
When accessing a file server's console, you will see all screen updates being made at the file server's monitor. Also, the keys you type at your keyboard will be sent to the file server and entered as if they had been typed in there. To cycle through the screens defined on the file server, press the gray + and - keys. To display a menu of other available options (Select Screen, Directory Scan, Transfer Files, etc.), press the gray * key.
When you are done accessing a server, press "SHIFT-ESCAPE" to return to the Available Servers list.

PASSWORD HELP
To access a file server's console from a remote location, you need to know either the supervisor password or the password that was entered when the REMOTE NLM was loaded.
Type in either password and press the ENTER key. Or, press the ESCAPE key to abort.
AVAILABLE SCREENS HELP
Displayed is a list of the Available Screens currently being managed by the server. To view a screen, position the highlight over the desired screen and press the ENTER key.

MODEM CONFIGURATION HELP
Displayed is a form with the current modem configuration. Edit the information as necessary and press the ESCAPE key to return to the Main Menu.
Select Com Port
Press the ENTER or MODIFY (F3) key to view the list of available COM ports from which to choose. Position the highlight over the desired COM port and press the ENTER key.
Select Baud Rate
Press the ENTER or MODIFY (F3) key to view the list of available Baud Rates from which to choose. Position the highlight over the desired Baud Rate and press the ENTER key.

Modem Dial Command
Modem Hangup Command
These commands can be changed, if necessary. However, they should only be changed by one who understands modem commands. Up to 40 characters are allowed in each command.
User Connection ID
This is the identification by which the connecting station will
be known to the remote server being accessed. If this field is left blank, you will not be able to establish a connection with any of the remotely accessible server.

Displayed is the menu of available remote console features.
Select A Screen To View
This option displays the list of screens the server is currently managing. You can select any screen to view from the list. (The gray + and - keys also allow you to switch screens.)
Directory Scan
This option allows you to view a list of files and subdirectories contained in any directory on the file server or in the DOS area from which the server was booted. Select this
option and enter the path to be displayed. The file names,
dates, and sizes will be displayed. Wildcards are accepted.

Transfer Files To Server
This option allows you to copy files from the workstation
to the file server. You will first be prompted for a source
path. (The source path is of the form [drive:][path]. Wildcards are accepted, but NetWare Volumes are not.) You will then be prompted for a target path on the file server (DOS area or NetWare Volumes accepted). Then the remote console utility will copy the selected files to the file server.
Copy System And Public Files
This option allows you to install the system and public files on the server (the same feature exists in the INSTALL NLM). If subdirectories containing the system and public files exist in the current directory, the files therein will be installed on the server. If such subdirectories do not exist in the current directory, you will be prompted to insert the appropriate Installation diskette(s).

Shell To Operating System
This option allows you to exit to DOS. You must have a valid command processor (COMMAND.COM) in your COMSPEC or PATH environment variable. To return to the remote console, type EXIT at the DOS prompt.
End Remote Session With Server (SHIFT-ESCAPE)
This option clears your connection with the current server
and returns to the list of available servers. As indicated, pressing SHIFT-ESCAPE does the same.
Resume Remote Session With Server (ESC)
This option exits the Available Options menu, and returns to the server console screen. As indicated, pressing the ESCAPE key does the same.

PHONE LIST HELP
Displayed is the list of locations previously defined to the AConsole application. Initially, this list is empty.
To add a new location, press the INSERT key and enter the appropriate information for the new entry. When you are done, press the ESCAPE key and the new entry will appear in the list.
To modify an existing entry, highlight the desired entry and press the MODIFY (F3) key. Press the ESCAPE key when done editing the information. The modified entry will appear in the list.
To delete an existing entry, highlight the desired entry and press the DELETE key. You must confirm your intent to delete the entry.
To connect to a location in the list, highlight the desired location and press the ENTER key.

MAIN MENU HELP
Displayed is the the AConsole Main Menu. Highlight the desired option and press the ENTER key, or press the ESCAPE key to exit the program.
Connect To Remote Location
Select this option to view the list of locations remotely accessible by AConsole.
Configure Modem
Select this option to view or modify the currently defined modem configuration (COM port, baud rate, and so on). The user ID by which you will be known to the remotely accessible servers is also entered using this option.

LOCATION AND PHONE NUMBER HELP
Displayed is the form that allows you to define the information about a remotely accessible server.
Location
You can enter anything (up to 40 characters) for the Location field. It can be the name of a server, a department, a city, and so on. It is only a means to help identify a server by more than just the phone number of the server's modem.
Phone Number
Enter the phone number for calling the remote server's modem. Since this number is appended to the Dial Command being sent to your local modem, you must include any necessary dial modifiers (see your modem User's Guide).
